Parliament's term should not be extended: Minister Thapa

Kathmandu, Feb 8: Minister for Health, Gagan Kumar Thapa, has said that the term of the Parliament should not be extended.

Inaugurating a 16-room quake resistant health post at Thalajung in Gorkha on Wednesday, Minister Thapa said, "There is no alternative to election. So let's hold election of local bodies within May 14 and election of province and centre simultaneously later."

Saying Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Centre) stood together in course of promulgating the constitution, he said that the major three political parties should once again stand together for constitution implementation.

Minister Thapa also expressed commitment to supply medicines in the health institution facing shortage within 24 hours and expressed concern over the inability of people to receive quality medical treatment service at Gorkha District Hospital for lack of specialist doctors. RSS
